• Team Killing as defined is forbidden. Exceptions to team killing are meeting out instant justice to someone who team kills, or the killing of an outlaw.
  • No foul language or personal attacks are permitted within the forums, servers, or any other official or unofficial means of communication within Empire Paladin.
  • Although heckling an enemy is permitted, it should be done within limits. No member may threaten anyone with physical violence outside of the “virtual” gamming world. They will be banished instantly.
  • Malem En Se: Literally means, "Evil on its face." No blantantly evil members, visitors, topics, pictures; or any medium in which Paladins have control, will be permitted in the Paladin Realm. A Paladin stands for all that is good, and thus cannot and will not permit that which is obviously evil to exist here.

  • Each tier of hierarchy will manage their subordinates as they see fit within reason. Any member within the High King’s realm may appeal directly to the High King, if he feels that an action against him is unjust. The High King shall hold a trial to determine the facts, and rule in the matter. This right should never be exercised frivolously. Each tier has a First. A First CM, A First Duke, Lord, Baron, and Knight. It is their responsibility to help manage their tier on behalf of the High King, and to manage their subordinates as they themselves would want to be managed. The second ranking member of the tier will assist the First Tier Leader to demonstrate their leadership, or take over if the Tier Leader fails to perform their duties. Grievances can be filed and given to the King for mediation.

  • The High King reserves the right to banish anyone at any time for any reason. Only the High King may banish, but a member of any tier of the feudal hierarchy can recommend to the High King that the subject be banished. A trial will ensue in which both parties may state their case, if the person is recommended for banishment by anyone other than the High King himself.

  • All members of Empire Paladin must follow the chain of command, with the exception of the right of appeal. Thus all desires, complaints, or needs should be directed to the tier leader. If they can not be resolved there, they will be directed to the High Council, then the Prince and King.

  • In the absence of the High King for some reason, he will appoint a proxy ruler. The first in the hierarchy is the Prince. In his absence the Lead Council Elder, in his absence/inability the lead Council Member, and then to the First Duke, and then on down the chain of command. The chosen proxy ruler will be known in the High King’s absence, Regis Pro Tempori , or Temporary King. In other words they have all the same power and authority as the High King in his absence.

  • Any member who disgraces either themselves or the clan through hacking or cheating will be banished. “Aimbots” and the like are not permitted.

  • Promotions within the clan are “top down,” until all tiers are filled. Once all feudal tiers are filled any member of any class may petition for their recruits or “Apprentices” to enter the clan. They will then have to perform a trial probationary period of two weeks, and then participate in a knighting and trial of combat. If the Petitioner is successful, the applicant will join the ranks of their brothers/sisters in arms. The High King reserves the right to promote any member from any level at any time, based on the merit of the individual. Likewise, the High King reserves the right to block a promotion if he believes the candidate is unworthy; or demote that person until they show improvement.

  • The High King reserves the right to amend existing law, or create new laws as he sees fit.

  • Council Members are permitted to become Praetor Prefects, and create territories of their own within the Empire of Clan Paladin. However the Empire remains as one body. All members no matter which territory they play in obtain and advance in rank the same as everyone else. Praetor Prefects may petition the High King and the Council for players promotion.

MAGNA CARTA

The Junior Member has rights that are inalienable.

The Junior Member will first redress the censor or punishment handed down to him or her by the censoring punishing, or admonishing Senior Member, if the decision of Senior Member is considered unfair or unjust by the Junior Member.

If that redress is unsatisfactory the Junior Member has a series of different options. The Junior Member may alert his or her Tier Leader and the Tier Leader of Senior Member will be alerted by Junior's Tier leader regarding the issue at hand. The four of them will then convene to work out the issue. If this remedy is unsatisfactory to the Junior Member, he or she may appeal directly to the High King.

If the Junior Member feels aggrieved enough, and despairs that a Tier Leader Member will accomplish little in their situation, he or she may bypass the Tier Leaders and appeal directly to the High King.

If an appeal is made to the High King, the High King will set a date for the Council to convene. The aggrieved Junior Member, their Tier Leader, and an advocate of the Junior Member’s choice from within the Empire of Paladin will meet. On the opposing side is the Senior Member and his or her Tier Leader. The Council will allow each side to state their case, then debate the issue amongst themselves both on their opinions as to the just cause of action and what policy should be enacted in the future regarding the issue involved. The High King and/or Prince will act as judge and try to access all side’s points of view and make a final ruling.

Jus Sanguinis

This is "The Right of Blood." This means that an active member who is a parent or guardian may petition for a child under the mandatory age of 17 to join that parent in Paladin within reason. Within reason is defined as at least over the age of 12. The parent or guardian takes full responsibility for their child. If the child misbehaves to the point of requiring banishment, then the child may return at the mandatory age of 17 and initiate the process of membership once again.
